(Greendale, Ind.) – A woman involved in a fatal overdose in Greendale has been sentenced.

Justin Harmeyer was found overdosed on heroin in a Greendale hotel back on February 14. A Dearborn County Coroner determined that the dangerous combination of heroin, alprazolam, and buprenorphine contributed to his death.

His fiancée, Kelly Abbott, 32, of Addyston, Ohio was in the room at the time of the overdose and was charged with Obstruction of Justice and Possession of a Narcotic Drug.

Abbott pleaded guilty to both charges as part of a plea agreement. A Dearborn County judge sentenced her on January 5 to 1816 days on probation.

As part of her sentencing, Abbott was ordered to serve 14 days behind bars. However, Abbott had previously served seven days in jail prior to sentencing.

Indiana’s good time credit law doubled the credited days to 14, and allowed Abbott to begin her probation immediately.
