On Monday, two officers were patrolling the parking lot of the supercenter when they saw a man run from the grocery side exit. He had allegedly tried to steal almost $675 worth of merchandise.

As the man fled, the police officers witnessed store security officers shouting “He just tried to steal something” and pointing towards the suspect, Alonzo Davis.

The police officers observed Davis entering his white Dodge Caravan with Kansas tags. He was seen frantically reaching into the minivan’s center console.

Davis, 41, of Dewey Beach, Delaware was quickly taken into custody. Officers would allegedly discover crystal meth and a glass pipe were stored in the vehicle’s center console.

Davis is charged with Theft (Class D felony), Possession of Methamphetamine (Class D felony), and Possession of Paraphernalia (Class A misdemeanor).
