Show Your Strength To Benefit Special Olympics

(Greendale, Ind.) – Do you have what it takes to pull Lawrenceburg Fire Department’s largest ladder fire truck? Find out at the 2014 Fire Truck Pull on August 30, 2014, where teams will show off their strength as they play tug of war with a 74,000 pound fire truck to benefit local Special Olympics athletes.
This full-day festival of food, music and competition will happen in Hollywood Casino’s U.S. 50 parking lot.
All event proceeds benefit Special Olympics Indiana –Ripley Ohio Dearborn, allowing athletes with intellectual disabilities to train and compete on a local and state level in 20 Olympic-type sports.
Each team can consist of up to 15 people. All participants must sign a waiver of liability. Each team must raise and donate at least $750 to compete. The team can raise money by hosting fundraisers, individual pledges, or corporate or union sponsorships. Gather your friends, sports team, coworkers or family and register at www.soindiana-rod.com.
Team members will line up on the rope attached to the fire engine. The official starter will signal when to begin pulling. After the team pulls the fire engine 25 feet, or five minutes has elapsed, the stopwatch will stop. Elapsed time will be recorded as the team score.
Winning teams and individuals can boast their accomplishment by displaying their trophy or plaque.
