police-siren-lights-small.jpg(Osgood, Ind.) – An early morning crash on U.S. 421 caused injuries to the driver and a utility pole.

Ripley County Sheriff’s deputies say the crash occurred at around 3:55 a.m. when Adam W. Siebert, 19, of Batesville, was driving a 2002 GMC Envoy southbound on U.S. 421  at County Road 300 South when he fell asleep.

Siebert’s vehicle went off the highway and struck a utility pole on the east side of the highway. The impact caused the utility pole to break at the ground, however, no wires were disconnected as a result of the crash.

Siebert was treated at the scene for a head laceration.

Assisting the deputies at the scene were the Osgood Fire Department, Rescue 69, and Ripley County Medic.
