Statewide Tornado Drills In Ohio, Kentucky Wednesday
By Mike Peleberg
(Undated) – Schools and families across Kentucky and Ohio are being asked to practice tornado preparedness Wednesday.
Test sirens will be activated at 9:50 a.m. in Ohio for the annual Statewide Tornado Safety Drill. In Kentucky, the sirens will sound at 10:07 a.m.
Mock tornado warning messages will also be sent over the states’ Emergency Alert Systems to test
readiness when twisters threaten the region. Counties will sound their outdoor weather sirens.
Indiana will conduct its statewide drill on March 20.
Families are urged to use the statewide drills as a chance to practice their own household emergency plan. Springtime typically brings an increased potential for thunderstorms, tornadoes, floods and other weather-related problems.
