(Vevay, Ind.) – Switzerland County citizens are being invited to an event that will teach how to recognize a person abusing drugs.

Sheriff Roy A. Leap announced Wednesday that his office is hosting a community forum at the Switzerland County Technology Center, 708 W. Seminary Street, in Vevay on May 13 at 6:30 p.m.

The forum will educate parents and others about the current drugs available on the streets and their effects. The program will focus on drug recognition, signs and symptoms of drug use and treatment options.  There will be a question and answer period at the end of the program.

Representatives from the Switzerland County Sheriff’s Office, Indiana State Police and the East Indiana Treatment Center will be the presenters.

Those planning on attending are asked to RSVP by emailing Sheriff Leap, [email protected].
