(Switzerland County, Ind.) – Switzerland County voters will again be able to take advantage of traveling vote centers leading up to Election Day.

The Indiana Secretary of State’s office has allowed Switzerland County to offer the vote centers that appear at locations across the county over several days. Any registered Switzerland County voter is permitted to vote any one vote center stop, regardless of whether the vote center is operating in their township or town of residence.

Indiana’s Secretary of State Office introduced the vote center idea to several counties, including Switzerland, 2012. The reasoning is that consolidating multiple precincts into a single location so counties save on costs associated with hiring poll workers and purchasing voting machines and supplies.
