(Aurora, Ind.) – Both suspects in an armed robbery at an Aurora grocery store will be sentenced in coming weeks.

Ronald Draper, Jr. and his son, Malachi Draper, each face charges of Robbery with a Deadly Weapon (Class B felony) and Theft (Class D felony). The duo allegedly used a rifle during a holdup at Tandy’s IGA, ordering employees to the floor before taking money from a safe and fleeing the scene on January 21.

A Dearborn County Prosecutor’s Office spokesperson said both Drapers have pleaded guilty. Ronald Draper, 43, was to go to jury trial on June 11 before he reached a plea agreement last month. Malachi Draper, 19, made a guilty plea in early May.

Details of the plea agreements could not be released, the spokesperson said.

Malachi is scheduled to be sentenced Wednesday, June 27 in Dearborn Superior Court I. The elder Draper will learn his sentence Monday, July 9 in the same court.

Both men remain held at the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center.
