Teen Hospitalized After Scooter Wrecks Into Rock Wall

(Milan, Ind.) – A Milan teenager was hurt in a scooter wreck Friday afternoon.

Austin Tyler King, 17, was riding a scooter on Spades Road when he went off the roadway and slid into a creek rock driveway retaining wall around 2:54 p.m., according to a Ripley County Sheriff’s Office press release.

King was not wearing a helmet and suffered a serious head trauma injury and facial lacerations. He was flown to an area hospital by Stat Flight PHI.

King’s status as of Monday has not been released.

Ripley County Sheriff’s were assisted at the accident scene by Milan Police Department, Sunman Police Department, Ripley County Medic, Sunman Rescue 20, and Sunman Fire Department.
