(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – It was a big weekend for area public pools as hundreds of families looked to cool off from temperatures peaking in the mid-90s.

Many visitors to the Pat O’Neill Memorial Pool in Lawrenceburg found they had to pay more to get in than years past.

Lawrenceburg City Council voted Monday, May 21 to raise the out of town admission prices because the pool ran at a deficit last year.

While Lawrenceburg residents still get in free, the admission price for an out of town individual is up from $6 to $8. Season passes are up from $65 to $70. Family passes have been hiked to $135 for four people, plus $25 for additional members.

Council also approved a half-price discount for all senior pool users – both in and out of town – for all pool activities including, admission, parties, and passes.

The pool is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from noon until 6:00 p.m.; Thursday and Sunday noon until 9:00 p.m.
