(Ripley County, Ind.) – A crash on State Road 46 in Ripley County sent three people to the hospital Thursday.

The accident happened at around 4:18 p.m. on SR 46 at Spades Road, according to Indiana State Police.

Troopers say a 2004 Dodge Stratus driven by Jordan Grimes, 17, of West Harrison, was westbound on the highway waiting to turn left onto Spades Road when another westbound vehicle, a 2004 Honda Civic driven by Vanessa Gorth, 27, of Batesville, could not slow down in time. Gorth struck Grimes’ vehicle from behind.

Gorth suffered a laceration to her forehead and Grimes complained of pain to his head. A passenger in Grimes’ vehicle, Otto Grimes, 50, had complaints of neck and back pain.

All three people were transported to Margaret Mary Health in Batesville where they were treated and released.

Indiana State Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
