UPDATE: Three Vehicle Crash In Ripley Co.

Update published at 12:26 p.m.:

The Ripley County Sheriff’s Department has released the names of those involved in a Monday morning crash on State Road 129 at County Road 300 South near Versailles.

James Whitaker, 66, of Madison, was driving a Sterling dump truck that was involved in a collision two passenger vehicles. One was a Ford Fusion operated by Kelsey Brinson, 16, with passenger Abigail Brinson, 14, both of Versailles. The third vehicle was a Ford F-150 operated by Russell Dreher, 46, of Eaton, Indiana, which has become  inverted.

Versailles Fire and Rescue had to extricate at least one of the victims from a vehicle. Milan Rescue 30 and Rescue 69 treated those involved by minor injuries.

State Road 129 was closed for approximately two hours.

Deputies said Indiana State Police will perform an inspection of the dump trick involved in the crash.

The accident remains under investigation by Sgt. Abe Hildebrand of the Ripley County Sheriff’s Department.

(Ripley County, Ind.) – Injuries are reported in a crash on State Road 129 in Ripley County Monday morning.

Three vehicles were involved in a crash on S.R. 129 near County Road 300 South at around 7:30 a.m., according to dispatchers.

The accident shut down the highway for a brief period. Dispatchers said one lane was open as of 9:20 a.m.

No names or a cause of the crash have been released yet. The Ripley County Sheriff’s Office is leading the crash investigation.
