(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – A new landmark in Lawrenceburg is more than 50 percent complete.
The $49 million Lawrenceburg Event Center and Hotel is nearing completion on the exterior, and crews are still working hard on the inside. Bruce Tumlin with construction manager Messer Construction Company says contractors are currently working on drywall, plumbing, and window installation. They will soon get to painting and carpeting.
“The exterior skin is nearly complete. Most of the windows are in on the hotel. The heating is on,” Tumlin explained in an exclusive hard hat tour for Eagle 99.3.

One of the most impressive aspects of the event center is the 19,000 square foot event room. Its 32-foot ceilings, movable seating, acoustical wall panels, concession stands and elevated suites will make it ideal for concerts. But, it could also host weddings or expos.
“It’s a very functional space,” Tumlin said. “I think it’ll be great for the type of events that will be hosted here. The floors are concrete polished so they could bring in cars or trucks for a trade show.”
In all, the center will have 104,000 square feet of usable space. It will feature breakout ballrooms, a restaurant, and a full service kitchen for catering events there.
The upper floors of the nine-story, 168-room hotel offer an excellent and unique view of either downtown Lawrenceburg or the Ohio River looking to Kentucky.
Completion on the project is anticipated in the second quarter of 2014. Ownership of the facility will then be transferred to Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg, which is currently limited in the types of events it can host at the riverboat because of space limitations and age restrictions.
