Traffic Stop Leads To Couple’s Drug Arrest

(Rising Sun, Ind.) – A Rising Sun couple is in jail charged with several felonies.


Rising Sun Police made a routine traffic stop on Wednesday, May 23, said Chief of Police David Hewitt. During the stop and a subsequent search, officers found over two ounces of marijuana, several prescription pills, and paraphernalia.


Arrested were Jamie Cole, 33, and Katherine Cole, 25, both of Rising Sun. They are charged with Dealing in Cocaine or a Narcotic Drug (Class B felony), Dealing in a Schedule I, II, or III Controlled Substance (Class B felony), Dealing in a Schedule IV COntrolled Substance (Class C felony), Dealing in Marijuana (Class D felony), Possession of Cocaine or a Narcotic Drug (Class D felony), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Class D felony), Possession of Marijuana (Class D felony), Possession or Use of a Legend Drug or Precursor (Class D felony), Possession of Paraphernalia (Class A misdemeanor), Maintaining a Common Nuisance (Class D felony), and Neglect of a Depengant (Class D felony).


The couple remains held in the Switzerland County Jail as of Friday. They have not yet been assigned a bond.
