Tuesday Is Ohio Voter Registration Deadline
By Mike Perleberg
(Harrison, Oh.) – Time is running out to register to vote in the November 7 general election in Ohio.
The Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted’s office says Tuesday, October 10 is the last day to register or update your voting information.
You can do both at your county’s board of elections office or online at MyOhioVote.com. Voter registration forms can also be obtained at local libraries.
Voters in the Southwest Local School District will vote on a .649 mill school bond issue and .5 mill tax levy in next month’s election. If it passes, the district would build three new elementary schools and a new middle school, as well as renovate William Henry Harrison High School. The additional tax revenue over the next 38 years would fund the $71.7 million school facilities project, with the State of Ohio paying about a third, or $26.6 million, of the total cost.
School board races are also on the ballot in Southwest Local and Three Rivers Local school districts.
Voters in the City of Harrison will pick from five candidates to fill four Harrison City Council at-large seats.
In the Village of Cleves, citizens will choose from five candidates to occupy four available seats on the village council.
