Two Men Arrested After Crystal Meth Found In Truck

(Laurel, Ind.) – A traffic stop for an equipment violation ended with two drug arrests in Laurel on Saturday, July 1.

A Franklin County Sheriff’s deputy was on patrol in the Laurel area when the violation was noticed on a Ford Ranger.

During the stop and a subsequent search of the vehicle, deputies discovered an ounce what a substance suspected to be crystal methamphetamine.

Both occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody. Jerry Abrams, 62, and Tony D. Pursifull, 44, have each been charged with Dealing in Methamphetamine (level 2 felony) and Possession of Paraphernalia (class C misdemeanor).

The men, both from Laurel, are held at the Franklin County Security Center with no bond.

A level 2 felony carries a potential sentence of up to 30 years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines, if a person is convicted.
