UPDATE: Aircare Summoned To US 50 Crash

Posted On January 14, 2014

Update posted at 12:02 p.m.:

Deputies say a man who wrecked his vehicle on U.S. 50 in Whitewater Township Tuesday morning may have fallen asleep at the wheel.

Christopher Deters, 19, of Erlanger, lost control of his car on the highway between Lawrenceburg Road and Kilby Road at about 7:45 a.m. The vehicle went off the road, struck a tree, and overturned.

Deters was not wearing a seatbelt, investigators said. He was taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center by aircare for non-life threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation, although the sheriff’s office said that speed, drugs, and alcohol do not appear to be factors.

U.S. 50 has since reopened to traffic.
