A Franklin County burglary victim says some of his belongings have been recovered. Sometime between September 20 and 23, thieves took practically everything from Brian Hamilton’s home on Meadow Lane in Metamora.

Hamilton, who lives alone, tells Eagle 99.3 he was out of town on personal business at the time his home was cleared out by thieves.

Hamilton’s pet, clothing, vehicles, washer, dryer, a gun safe, televisions, furniture, even his paper plates and trash can were taken by burglars. Hamilton suspects that the thief had help, making at least four or five trips from his home using three trailers that were also stolen from his home.

He told Eagle 99.3 today that he has a good idea of who took the items and it was somebody he personally knew. He declined to give names, saying he did not want to hinder the police investigation.

“I think it was a vendetta kind of thing,” Hamilton said.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department has not announced any arrests yet. A representative of the department said that the case is still under investigation Wednesday.

After the burglary, Hamilton said he began canvassing town seeking information. After visiting just three houses, he learned that somebody was trying to sell his stolen belongings.

“I got out and started beating the bushes,” Hamilton said. “I don’t think (the thieves) were very smart about it.”

The thousands of dollars worth of belongings, Hamilton believes, have been dispersed in various locations because the possible thieves did not have room to store them.

A stretch limo taken from his home was found Monday morning totaled and abandoned less than a mile away abandoned on Davidson Road, Hamilton said. That limo has been impounded.

However, his stolen American bully dog, Miss Kitty, remains missing.

Hamilton said investigators may escort him Wednesday to identify some of the possible stolen items that have been located.

(Brookville, Ind.) – Thieves robbed a Franklin County man of everything in his home.

Most home burglars target valuables such as jewelry or electronics. Not the people who wiped Brian Hamilton’s home clean. Everything from his furniture and his dog to his clothing and vehicles were taken.

The Brookville American-Democrat reports that Brian Hamilton was out of town last month. Sometime between September 20 and 23, thieves moved in and made Hamilton’s home – located on a dead-end road called Meadow Lane in Metamora – look like he had moved out.

When Hamilton returned home, he found that everything inside missing, along with several vehicles and trailers. One of the vehicles was a stretch limousine.

Neighbors told police they saw people moving items out of Hamilton’s home, but they figured it was just him moving out, according to the newspaper.

Hamilton told the newspaper he is offering a large cash reward for information leading to the return of his property. If you have information, call the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department at (765) 647-4138. Callers can remain anonymous.
