UPDATE: Missing Teen Girl Found In Franklin Co.

Update published Saturday, August 12:

Missing/endangered 14-year-old Emily Pennington was found alive by search teams at around 1:00 a.m. Saturday, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department.

Volunteers remained in the area to search for the teen late Friday night. She was found sitting along the bank of the Whitewater River approximately two miles from where she went missing.

Pennington was transported by Franklin County E.M.S. to Children’s Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio, as a precaution.

The sheriff’s department thanks the numerous volunteers, as well as the Laurel Police Department, Indiana Conservation Officers, Urban Search and Rescue, Buckeye Search and Rescue, Indiana State Police, and the Hamilton County (Ohio) Sheriff’s Office for all of their assistance.

(Metamora, Ind.) – Police are urging local citizens to be on the lookout for a missing juvenile in Franklin County.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department sent out an alert around 10:54 a.m. Friday that a white, 14-year-old female is missing from the Metamora area.

The girl is said to be 5’5” with a thin build and light brown hair.

Police suspect the girl has some type of medical condition.
