UPDATE: OWI Arrest Following Serious Crash On Wilson Creek Road

Update published Monday, November 20 at 7:20 a.m.:

Charges are likely against a driver who deputies say was intoxicated when he crashed into another vehicle near Lawrenceburg on Friday.

Earl True, of Lawrenceburg, was driving a vehicle southbound on Wilson Creek Road Friday afternoon at around 2:15. He lost control and veered into the path of an oncoming vehicle driven by Lani Phelps, of Aurora.

A passenger in Earl True’s vehicle, Douglas True, suffered life threatening injuries and was flown by Air Care to University of Cincinnati Medical Center.

Phelps and a child in her vehicle had minor injuries. They were treated at Dearborn County Hospital.

Earl True was the only person not injured, however, he was arrested for OWI and OWI Causing Serious Bodily Injury.

Deputies say True refused standard field sobriety tests and a chemical test. Authorities did obtain a blood sample from True after receiving a warrant.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Multiple injuries are reported in a Friday afternoon crash in Lawrenceburg.

Two vehicles collided on Wilson Creek Road at the intersection with Brooks Road at around 2:15 p.m.

Wilson Creek Road is closed at the crash scene.

Dispatchers said at least two people were transported to the hospital. No names or conditions have been released.

The Dearborn County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the accident.
