(Versailles, Ind.) – A Versailles man was air lifted to an area hospital after being thrown from his moped this past weekend in Ripley County.

Ripley County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an accident on Tanglewood Road in Versailles around 5:37 p.m. on Saturday.

Deputies say Kelsey Brandes, 20, of Versailles, was traveling westbound on Tanglewood Road when her vehicle went left of the center line and struck an eastbound moped driven by Carl Wagner, of Versailles.

Wagner, 58, was thrown from his moped. He was air lifted to University of Cincinnati for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.

Brandes was treated at the scene, and cited for driving left of center and having no valid insurance.

The Ripley County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by Versailles Fire Department, Rescue 69, and Ripley County Medics.
