(Batesville, Ind.) – Citizens and organizations are being asked to help keep Batesville beautiful.

The Batesville Beautification League was founded in 1949 to enhance the beauty and vibrancy of the city in partnership with city government.

The league will be holding Beautify Batesville Day this Saturday, October 21. From 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., volunteers will collect litter and do some weeding and trimming in downtown Batesville and the city’s parks.

“This is a great opportunity to give back to our wonderful community and would be ideal for a student who needs community service hours or someone who wants to be more involved,” said Batesville Beautification President Clara Goble.

Those lending a hand should meet at the Village Green Park in downtown Batesville at 8:30 a.m. Volunteers should be age 12 or older. The organization will provide garbage bags, tools and refreshments, but you should bring your own gloves.

A registration form can be found at http://batesvilleindiana.us/wp-content/uploads/beautify_batesville_day.pdf.
