Wednesday’s Rain Storms Broke A Record, Not Much Else

Posted On May 15, 2014

(Hebron, Ky.) – The amount of rain the tri-state witnessed Wednesday was record-breaking.

The 1.65 inches recorded at the Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky International Airport by the National Weather Service set a new daily record for May 14.

The previous record was 1.29 inches set in 1905.

Storms brought heavy rains to southeast Indiana, but there were no reports of significant damage as a result of winds or flooding. The system did produce a tornado in Cedarville, Ohio Wednesday.

Only a few showers remain in the area Thursday morning. A Flash Flood Watch for the entire tri-state has been cancelled by the weather service.
