(Cleves, Oh.) – Whitewater Crossing Christian Church celebrated 100 years or worship on Sunday.

The church began May 14, 1916 with just 48 members as Westwood-Cheviot Church of Christ. Today, it is approaching mega-church status with more than 1,400 attendees per weekend.

“The special thing that I’ve been telling people is not that we’re 100, it’s that our best days are ahead. It’s not unusual for a church to turn 100, but to expand and to have your best days in the next 100, that’s what’s amazing and extraordinary for us,” says Senior Minister David Vaughan.

Whitewater Crossing, located on Route 128 in Cleves, is in the midst of an expansion project. The church is adding 56,000 square feet which should be completed by the end of 2016.
