image(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Can’t find that snow shovel you stored away following last winter? You may want to find it or get a new one soon.

Meteorologists say a snow and ice storm is inbound for the tri-state. The National Weather Service will put a Winter Storm Warning in effect for southeast Indiana and southwest Ohio from 1:00 a.m. Friday through 1:00 a.m. Saturday.

Rain Thursday will transform into a wintry mix overnight. The weather service expects four to six inches of snow accumulation along with some light ice covering by Friday evening.

Thursday’s rain poses another problem. Highway crews will not be able to spread salt brine to pre-treat roads in advance of the winter storm. That could make for very slick road conditions Friday.

Eagle 99.3 will be your local cancellation and delay station. We’ll also provide plenty of road reports Friday morning.
