(Madison, Ind.) – A Versailles woman was arrested after passing out in a fast food restaurant drive-thru.

Wilma E. Asher, 57, faces two misdemeanor counts of Operating While Intoxicated, The Madison Courier reports.

Madison Police responded to the local Wendy’s restaurant for a report of a woman passed out on Saturday. Officers found Asher slumped over into the passenger seat with the car still in gear.

Police say Asher was likely involved in a single-vehicle hit-and-run accident in Madison a short time earlier. Parts of a bumper found at the scene matched those missing from Asher’s car. A piece of mail recovered at the crash scene also matched Asher’s address.

The driver was allegedly unable to follow officers’ instructions to take a portable breath test.  They noted that she also had slurred speech and difficulty retrieving items requested by officers.

Asher has been released from jail after posting a $500 cash bond. She has pleaded not guilty to the OWI charges.
