Woman Dies Following Franklin Co. Crash
(Brookville, Ind.) – A Richmond, Indiana woman died from injuries she suffered in a crash in Franklin County Monday.
Malinda Medlin, 54, was driving west on State Road 252 near Lovers Lane when her vehicle went off the road and struck a tree, according to a Franklin County Sheriff’s Department news release. Medline was taken by aircare to University Hospital in Cincinnati following the crash east of Brookville.
Deputies said she was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected.
Medlin died Monday afternoon at the hospital.
Deputies were not sure why Medlin’s vehicle left the highway, speculating that deer or rainfall during the morning may have contributed.
The sheriff’s department was assisted by Drewersburg EMS and the Drewersburg Fire Department.
