Original story posted August 25 at 6:07 p.m.:

(Cedar Grove, Ind.) – A woman was carjacked at gunpoint in Franklin County Monday afternoon, police say.

The robbery and carjacking occurred on U.S. 52 in Cedar Grove at around 3:30 p.m., Indiana State Police Sgt. Noel Houze tells Eagle 99.3. The suspect, reported to be a male, was last seen driving west on U.S. 52 towards Brookville.

It is unclear whether the carjacking victim was injured or not.

Houze said Indiana State Police and Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies are working together to try and track down the suspect and the stolen vehicle.

It was unclear which agency would be taking the lead on the case, Houze said, adding if state police handle it more information could be released later Monday evening.

Really bad when car jackings spread to a small Franklin County, Indiana community. People from Cincy bringing their evil ways to the country?

Tony T, blaming people from Cincy is idiotic. Crime is on the rise in rural areas due to the meth problem we have in the good ol' US of A. Being a native hoosier who lived in Cincy for a short time, I can attest that while Buckeyes are worthless nuts, they are  no different in their quest for greener pastures here in the hoosier state.

@smartjw The Cincy thing is just something that I have heard for years. I know there is a lot of meth problems in this country, especially in Franklin County. I grew up outside Mt. Carmel, our address was RR Cedar Grove, went to school at Whitewater High School. We shopped at Fohl's Grocery and the hardware store in Cedar Grove its hard to believe that a car jacking would happen there-especially by a woman.

Indeed, this kind of crime in our Mayberry's is surreal.
