Work Begins On US 50 Repaving Project
Press release from Indiana Department of Transportation
(Aurora, Ind.) – Construction crews began preparing patches along 2½ miles of U.S. Highway 50 between Dutch Hollow Road and State Road 350 at Aurora on Tuesday in advance of paving operations for a $1.2 million Indiana Department of Transportation district project. Paul H. Rohe Company is INDOT’s prime contractor.
Left lanes—both east- and westbound—are closed while workers mill out pavement failures and make asphalt repairs. Once completed, right lanes will be restricted for patching operations.
Plans call for single-lane traffic to be maintained in both directions at all times through the construction zone during repairs. Meanwhile, resurfacing will be done under traffic—without lane closures; drivers will be directed around moving worksites by flaggers.
The state’s contract completion date is November 15.
