(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – Aside from the lack of construction trucks and quieter atmosphere around the facility, there’s another sign that work is about complete on the Lawrenceburg Event Center and Hotel.

The $53 million construction project is being managed by Messer Construction of Cincinnati. Since the first buckets of dirt were moved at the site between High Street and the Ohio River levee in October of 2012, the company has been providing weekly email updates on the progress.
On Saturday, Messer representatives said that it will no longer be sending those updates to Lawrenceburg city leaders and downtown business and property owners.
“We appreciated your patience as we constructed this facility for your community. Again, thanks for allowing us to be a part of your newest landmark in Lawrenceburg,” said Bruce Tumlin with Messer Construction.
Some work is still being performed on the interior of the nine-story hotel, but the event center portion of the facility has already hosted a handful of events.
No date for a grand opening or ribbon cutting ceremony has been announced yet by Hollywood Casino Lawrenceburg or the city.
