Progress being made on Hotel & Event Center

Good progress is being made on the construction of the Lawrenceburg Hotel and Event Center in downtown Lawrenceburg.  The builder….Messer Construction gave us an up-date.  Underground plumbing and electric work continues along with preparation for the first floor slab.  Structural steel on the North Side of the building is nearly complete….and the project remains on schedule.  The 49-Million Dollar Project…

Plea hearing held in Dearborn Co. for Ripley Co. man

A Plea Hearing was held in Dearborn County Monday for Michael W. Simers of Osgood who pled guilty in connection to numerous burglaries that took place in Dearborn and Ohio County.  Nine businesses were burgarlized between June and September last year.  Robert Hunington of Milan has already pled guilty and has a sentencing hearing set for May 2nd.  Simers will…

Candlelight ceremony tonight in Lawrencburg to prevent child abuse

Senate Bill 528 passes IN House

Senate Bill 528 has passed the Indiana House by a vote of 73-17.  It contains the held harmless clause that would protect riverboat revenue for local communities.  The bill will now go to a conference committee where the Senate and House version will be reconciled.

Two arrested in Ripley Co. for dealing

An investigation by the Ripley County Sheriff’s Department into the distribution of prescription pain pills and other illicit drugs has led to two arrests.   The two were apprenended  in a parking lot in Versailles April 10th.  Arrested was 20 year old Megan J. Two arrested in SE Ind robberies

Two men were arrested in connection to several armed robberies that took place in Southeast Indiana since January 31st.  Two of the crimes took place in Ripley County …another in Rushville…and a fourth in Newpoint. Arrested is 21 year old C. N. KY official facing DUI charge

A Northern Kentucky official is facing charges.  48-year old Richard Lunnerman…Florence City Co-ordinator was arreste Friday charged with D.U.I.  He was stopped by a sheriff’s deputy on Rt. 18 and failed 3 sobriety tests.  Florence Mayor Diane Whalen has said that pending a decision by the court….Lunnerman will not be permitted to operate any city owned vehicles.

One person to the hospital from overturned vehicle on I-75

A portion of I-75 near Mall Road in Florence was down to one lane for over an hour following an accident Saturday night. One person was taken to a local hospital after the car they were in overturned on the highway. The name and condition of the injured was not released.

Fire at the Mubea Company in Florence

Firefighters were able to contain a fire quickly early Saturday morning at the Mubea Company on Dixie Highway in Florence, Kentucky.  The fire started in a dust collector on a machine.  No one was injured.  The Mubea Company make electronic power supplies.
