(Greendale, Ind.) – Water rescue crews and firefighters searched the waters and banks of the Ohio River for a reported body Thursday evening.
A 911 call was made at about 7:00 p.m. from a traveler on the I-275 Carroll Cropper Bridge reporting a possible body in the water, said Dearborn County Water Rescue Captain Bill Black.
DCWR searched the river between the bridge and Lesko Park in Aurora until about 11:00 p.m. but were unable to locate any sign of a person in the water. Firefighters from Greendale and Lawrenceburg walked along the river bank looking for anything suspicious.
Black said they searched a large area because the river’s current was moving quickly.
Crews are not likely to continue the search Friday, Black said.
