(Cedar Grove, Ind.) – A man was hospitalized following a crash on U.S. 52 in Cedar Grove Thursday.

Franklin County Sheriff’s deputies say a 2003 Ford van driven by Marchall A. Totten, of Brookville, was heading eastbound on U.S. 52 when the vehicle left  the south side of the highway at the Second Street intersection at about 11:37 a.m. The van then struck a chain link fence and a guardrail.

First responders found Totten unconscious in the vehicle with minor abrasions to his face. Medics on the scene think the driver may have had some type of seizure or heart attack before the crash.

Totten’s current condition was not released.

The crash remains under investigation by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department.
