Local Sports Report - April 22, 2024

Rising Sun golf, South Ripley softball, and East Central baseball were among the winners on Monday.

BOYS GOLF

Rising Sun wins golf match at Belterra Golf Course with a team score of 176. Led by Nate Elliot with a score of 39. Southwestern finished second with a score of 186. Switzerland County finished third with a score of 195.

Batesville wins the Ripley County Tournament with a team score of 151. Milan came up second with a score of 165. Jac-Cen-Del takes third with a score of 197. South Ripley finished fourth with a score of 241. Jackson Voss from Milan was tied with a score of 37 with Batesville's Ian Hixson.

BASEBALL

East Central baseball defeated Rushville 16-3. Brayden Rouse had a HR and 2 RBI. Cole Reynolds had 3 hits and 3 RBI. Matthew Roy, Colin Harrill, Joel Richter had a couple RBI of their own. Max Hotze recorded 8 strikeouts. 

Lawrenceburg baseball fell to Connersville 5-3. Caden Baker had two hits and an RBI. Dustin Shaw had a hit and a run. J.P. Izzo had an RBI. T.J. Tibbetts had a run, and a hit. Nolan McLane had a run and hit.

South Dearborn falls to Franklin County 17-1. Dylan Wynn, Gabe Perry, Tyeler Gulden all had a hit. Perry scored their one run.

South Ripley loses to Shawe 9-2

 

SOFTBALL

South Ripley takes down Oldenburg 20-10. Georgia Mertz had a hit all 4 of her at bats, had 4 RBI and had one run. Anna Block had 3 hits on her 4 at bats that got her 4 RBI of her own. Zoe Clowers got 4 runs 1 hit and 3 RBI. Ellie Combs 3 runs, 1 hit 2 RBI.

Connersville defeated Franklin County 3-0.
