Girls Golf

Dearborn Country Club with a team score of 207. Southwestern shot
a 209. South Ripley a 219.
The Lady Raiders did have the medalist in the match as Lakin Davis shot
a 43. South Dearborn's Tara Tiettmeyer came in second with a 45.

A three-run eighth inning propelled the Freedom to a 5-3 season-ending
victory against Chillicothe. Matt Hackney singled to start the
inning and after Eric Padilla flied to center, the next three hitters –
Eddie Gonzalez, Garth McKinney and Ryan Basham – followed with
consecutive base hits. Reliever Everett Saul (7-7) picked up the win
for Florence. The Freedom's final '08 record stands at 47-49.

Florence starter Andy Clark (10-2) picked up the win to set a new club
record for victories in a season en route to a 3-2 win over
Chillicothe. The win came in exiting fashion as Florence's Billy
Mottram batted in Ryan Basham for the winning run on a double in the
top of the 12th inning. The Freedom, eliminated form playoff
contention over Labor Day weekend, play their 2008 season finale
tonight at Chillicothe.

Fourth Annual Dick Gaines Memorial
Hunter Schuerenberg claimed the checkered flag by leading the final 19
laps of the Dick Gaines Memorial feature race.
The AMSA Mini Sprint feature was won by Jeff Barnhart in the 2B
car. Barnhart took the lead on lap 13 and never relinquished it.
Mark Bruce won the OVS Pure Stock feature in his 11 car, leading all
but one lap in the race.

Florence starter Gary Lee pitched the second consecutive complete game
for the Freedom in a 10-1 win that gave the team the series win over
Traverse City. Lee allowed only five hits. Florence returns
home tonight to play Washington in a three game series. The games
will mark the last homestand of the season.
