ACM Debated Hosting Awards Show In Las Vegas

The ACM Awards air this Sunday on CBS.

(Nashville, TN)  --  Officials with the Academy of Country Music debated hosting this year's awards show in Las Vegas.

The ACMs have taken place in Las Vegas for 15 out of the past 16 years.

CEO Pete Fisher tells "The Washington Post," quote, "Moving the show out of Las Vegas this year would have just really felt like an abandonment, and, in a sense, like hate won."

The city has taken on a new significance since a gunman shot and killed 58 concert-goers during the Route 91 Harvest Festival last October.
