Blake Shelton Was First Pitched "House That Built Me"

Instead, the song went to his then-wife Miranda Lambert.

(Undated)  --  Miranda Lambert's most iconic song was nearly lost to her then-boyfriend Blake Shelton.

CMT reports Blake was originally pitched the song, "The House That Built Me," but he gave it to Miranda after seeing how much it meant to her.

The song went on to become Miranda's fastest-rising single and first number-one hit on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart.
