Whitey Shafer Dies At age 84 

He wrote some of the most-recognizable songs in country music.

(Nashville, TN)  --  Famed songwriter Whitey Shafer is dead at the age of 84. 

He has written songs for a variety of artists, including George Jones, Connie Smith, Merle Haggard and George Strait. 

Some of his most beloved classics include "All my Ex's Live in Texas" and "Does Fort Worth Ever Cross Your Mind?" 

A cause of death has not yet been revealed.
