(Hebron, Ky.) - Amazon is ramping up its hiring ahead of the holiday shipping season.

The giant online retailer will begin hiring for more than 2,000 full-time, part-time and seasonal employees at its local customer fulfillment centers.

A hiring event runs from 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 10 at the Amazon Hiring Center, 2091 North Bend Road Ste. 150, in Hebron. Some candidates will receive a job offer on the spot.

Candidates can apply by attending the hiring event or apply online at www.amazon.com/cvgjobs. Applicants must be at least 18-years-old and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Amazon recently announced that it will begin paying all employees at least $15 an hour starting November 1.

The trade off for the minimum wage is that hourly workers will no longer earn bonuses or stock awards. In a statement, Amazon said the wage increase “more than compensates” for the loss.
