AUDIO: Greendale Mayor Wants To Hear Residents' Ideas For The Future

Don't miss out on a chance to have your voice heard.

(Greendale, Ind.) - If you live in Greendale, Mayor Alan Weiss wants to hear your ideas for the future.

Mayor Weiss and the City of Greendale invites its residents to attend one of three Greendale, The Next Level Listening Sessions.

At the sessions, residents are encouraged to share their ideas concerning parks, recreation, safety, utilities, roads, housing and more.

The listening sessions will take place on Tuesday, April 17 from 10:00 a.m. to noon and 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Greendale Cabin, and on Saturday, April 21 from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the Greendale First Church of Christ.

"We really look forward to this event and like I say, we want to hear from you and your ideas," said Weiss. "What are our strengths, what are our weaknesses, what do we need to work on, and what do we need to build on."

Weiss says there will be no debating, no complaining and no politics at the listening sessions.

In other Greendale news, Mayor Weiss says the city's new recycling program is off to a great start. "The first week we recycled 10 tons of what would have gone to a landfill," Weiss said.

He added that the participation rate is about 50 to 60 percent among city residents.

The City of Greendale is also celebrating the opening of St. Elizabeth Healthcare's new medical office on Flossie Drive. The 25,000-square-foot facility opened on Tuesday.

"They are open and doing very well," said Weiss. "It's a beautiful facility. We are very proud to have them in Greendale, and we look forward to a long-standing relationship."
