(Aurora, Ind.) - A little girl’s lemonade stand will help raise money for her little brother diagnosed with cystic fibrosis.

Eight-year-old Rowan Ziegler will hold her third annual lemonade fundraiser at Combs Pizza in Aurora in honor of her brother, Jet.

You can get a delicious cup of lemonade in exchange for a freewill donation to Jet’s Flight for a Cure this Saturday, May 11 from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. at the restaurant, located at 329 Second Street in downtown Aurora.

Rowan’s first lemonade stand was set up in the family’s driveway in 2016. The following year, she and her family began holding the yearly fundraiser at Combs Pizza.

Last year’s fundraiser helped the restaurant set a single-day sales record, says Adam Ziegler, Rowan and Jet’s father.

“We raised just shy of $5,000 last year from the donations that poured in,” Adam says.

Mother Valerie Ziegler says Jet continues to do well in his battle with CF. But he still has to visit the doctor regularly.

In addition to the lemonade stand, Combs Pizza is donating 10 percent of their sales Saturday to the Jet’s Flight team at the Great Strides Walk. Donations to the team will eventually go to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Valerie is encouraged by the progress which the foundation has made in the fight to make CF a survivable genetic disorder.

“That’s why we fundraise, because they’ve come so far with all the new medicines and research the past few years is very promising,” she says.
