City of Florence Citizen's Police Academy Begins October 9

The eight-week class meets each Wednesday.

(Florence, Ky.) – The Florence Police department is now accepting applications for their 2024 Florence Police Citizen’s Academy.

This eight-week class meets every Wednesday beginning October 9 and will conclude on Wednesday, December 4.

Classes will run each Wednesday from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. except for the week of Thanksgiving.  

Participants will learn and experience what it is like to be a police officer in a wide range of law enforcement duties, including laws of arrests, search and seizure, traffic law, hostage negotiations, crime scene investigations, accident reconstruction, drug investigations, vehicle operations, traffic stops, K-9 demonstration, and SWAT.

The application deadline is Monday, September 16. Spots are limited.
