City of Lawrenceburg to Provide Emergency Shelter in Response to Cold Temperatures

There is also snow in the forecast for tonight and Sunday.

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – The City of Lawrenceburg will open an Emergency Shelter on Friday in response to the upcoming forecast.

Individuals or families in need will have access to a monitored warm shelter, cots, blankets and water at the Lawrenceburg Boys Scout Cabin starting Friday, January 3 at noon.

According to the National Weather Service, snow is likely overnight into Friday. The daytime high on Friday will hover around 32 degrees with a low of 17. Temperatures will dip below freezing on Saturday and Sunday with a significant snow forecast Sunday into Monday.

A closing date for the Emergency Shelter is still to be determined based on the weather.

Please note that there is limited parking availability at the Scout Cabin, also no smoking or vaping is allowed inside the building or within 6 feet of the entrance.

The Lawrenceburg Boys Scout Cabin is located at 461 West High Street.
