(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) – More than two dozen local artists put their personal touch on a painting that was made for the City of Lawrenceburg.
The Southeastern Indiana Art Guild recently presented the communications director Guinevere Emery with the “Community Painting”.
Designed by Debi Black, the painting was created from an image of the Lawrenceburg Civic Park on August 25, 2019 during the SIAG’s Art in the Park event.
As a community painting, the canvas was sketched by the artist, then the public paints in the design. The artist oversees their progress, color schemes and creative process to harmonize the many individuals who participated in the creative process.
In total, 33 talented artists participated in the creating the community painting, including “young public artists” that added the sun to the painting.
“Our thanks and appreciation to the 33 talented artists who participated in creating such a lovely tribute to the Lawrenceburg Civic Park,” said Emery. “It is indeed, Artistry in Motion.”
