INDIANAPOLIS - Dearborn County Councilmember, Elizabeth Morris was elected District President of the Association of Indiana Counties’ (AIC) Southeast District during the annual meeting in Switzerland County last month.
“It is such an honor to represent our district and its interests on the board of the Association of Indiana Counties,” said Elizabeth Morris. “I greatly appreciate the trust placed in me by our area counties and will work hard to represent our counties as I work with the AIC for the betterment of county government.”
As District President, Morris represents the elected county officials in the Southeast District of the state, which includes the following counties: Bartholomew, Brown, Clark, Dearborn, Decatur, Floyd, Harrison, Jackson, Jefferson, Jennings, Ohio, Ripley, Scott, Switzerland, and Washington. There are six districts in the state. Morris serves on the AIC’s Board of Directors, which determines policies and legislative goals for the Association.
Switzerland County Clerk, Gayle Sullivan was elected District Vice President during the meeting as well. The meeting also included a synopsis of the 2022 Indiana Legislative Session by AIC legislative staff.
