Driver Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries In Burlington Pike Crash

The accident was reported just before 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.

(Boone County, Ky.) – An unidentified driver suffered life threatening injuries Thursday afternoon in Boone County.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to the crash around 4:40 p.m. at the intersection of Burlington Pike and Aero Parkway.

According to the preliminary investigation, the driver of a 2016 Toyota Avalon was in the left turn lane from westbound Burlington Pike and made an abrupt left hand turn in front of an eastbound Freightliner flatbed truck.

Investigators say the Freightliner had a green light at the time of the accident.

The driver of the Avalon was found unconscious at the scene and was airlifted to UC Medical Center.

The accident remains under investigation.
