Duke Energy Grant Supports Workforce Development in Dearborn Co.

Duke Energy Foundation recently invested more than $300K in workforce development initiatives.

(Dearborn County, Ind.) – One local organization has received grant funding from the Duke Energy Foundation.

The Southeast Indiana Workforce Investment Board was awarded $15,000 to support individuals impacted by substance misuse with reintegration into the workforce, providing opportunities for occupation training and placement in high-wage, in-demand occupations.

“The most important investment we can make is in the people and communities we serve,” said Stan Pinegar, president of Duke Energy Indiana. “Our Workforce Development Program grants aim to meet the needs of local employers while also providing resources and education to individuals to set them up for success in the workforce of the future.”

The grants are funded through the Duke Energy Foundation’s Workforce Development Grant Program.

For the past five years, the company has contributed more than $1.2 million in grant funding to organizations that are helping to strengthen Indiana’s talent pipeline.
