(Friendship, Ind.) – Friendship and Canaan firefighters were dispatched for mutual aid in Jefferson County on Thursday.
Both agencies were called to a large brush and field fire just outside of Canaan.
While several acres were burned, there was no significant loss of property, according to Friendship Volunteer Fire Department.
The department shared a short video of one of the several “cold funnels” that occurred during the run. The video demonstrates how the temperature differences can create additional hazards on the fireground.
The phenomenon can pull up embers and actual fire and spread it rapidly, creating what is known as “firenados.”
