Five New Military Plates For Ind. Veterans

in.gov

(Indianapolis, Ind.) - Indiana drivers will soon have a couple new license plate options honoring military veterans.

Governor Mitch Daniels took part in unveiling five new designs Wednesday, each featuring a branch of the U.S. military.

The new plates will replace a generic Hoosier Veteran plate introduced in 2002.

When the plates become available in 2012, a $15 fee for each plate will be donated to the Military Family Relief Fund.

“These new plates will enable vets to express their pride in serving, but equally they'll enable their fellow citizens to identify and say thanks to those to whom we all owe so much,” said Daniels.

The new plates can be ordered next year at myBMV.com or any BMV license branch.

Indiana will also introduce in 2012 a new driver’s license and identification card featuring a printed symbol on the back showing that person is a U.S. veteran.
