Greendale Woman Accused Of Stealing Money From Youth Football Team

(Lawrenceburg, Ind.) - A Greendale woman has been arrested and charged for allegedly stealing fundraising money from a youth football program. 

Jill R. Tibbetts was taken into custody on Friday and charged with Theft (Value $750-$50,000), a Level 6 Felony. 

On January 21, A Lawrenceburg Pewee Football Organization Officer Secretary notified Lawrenceburg Police that Tibbetts had closed the organization's 2nd grade pewee football bank account without consent from Henson or the second signatory.  

According to a probable cause affidavit, Tibbetts allegedly transferred the balance of $5,486.21 to a new bank account where she was the sole signatory. 

The funds were to be used for the team to attend a football tournament in Tennessee and pay for meals, uniforms and other equipment. 

Police reviewed Tibbetts' bank records and noticed charges for cable, Wal-Mart, auto insurance and other non-authorized charges. 

Lawrenceburg Pewee Football were contacted by Ohio Valley Screen Printing about a $1,140 unpaid bill that was supposed to be paid from the pewee football account. 

Police say there is also charges pending from a Holiday Inn stay in Tennessee where the account was overdrawn and has not been paid. 

TIbbetts was interviewed by police on January 22. She allegedly admitted to switching the bank account and removing the second signatory with consent, used the money for items not related to the team and was aware there was an unpaid balance at Ohio Valley Screen Printing over $1,000. 

She remains held in the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center.
